Students will know most of the basic techniques useful in
plant biotechnology
As a basic requirement, they will study the transposable
elements both in prokaryotes and eukaryotes
They will have a good understanding of the concepts of
molecular markers and the application and advantages of
these markers in biotechnology
Various direct methods and agro bacterium mediated Gene
transfer along with other methods are included
Application of these methods in crop improvement in terms
of disease resistance, high yield or other characters of
choice are also included. This will help them in their
higher studies
