This course deals with chromosome structure and genome organization, chromatin modifications, DNA sequences, and genetic material in microorganisms.

It covers Mendelian laws, bacterial transformation, transduction, conjugation, transfection, plasmids, bacteriophages, and genetic analysis of microbial genomes.

The course also focuses on gene structure, mutations and mutagenesis, genetic recombination, genetic mapping, transposons, restriction mapping, and the principles and applications of genetic engineering in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
